This year we decided to create very special MS Treatment Centre Christmas cards to sell at the centre to help us with our winter fundraising.

We decided to use our favourite picture of Tanner the dog, wearing his christmas hat whilst sitting in the snow.

It was rather a surprise when we sold out of the first batch of christmas cards, on the first day they were put out for sale! It seems that Tanner’s cheeky smile and Christmas hat are the perfect combination for the centre Christmas cards.

We’re now busily printing off more cards to put out for sale before Christmas. You can buy a pack of five Christmas Cards for £2.00 from the centre, all profits from the sale of the cards, go directly back to the centre, helping us continue to provide our services.

The event was a great fundraising opportunity for the centre, as well as promoting our work to the public.

We drew our Winter Raffle and the top prize of the ipad2 was won by a family member of one of our centre’s volunteers! There were plenty of other prizes drawn so do pop by the centre and check if you were one of our lucky winners.

Winter Raffle:

Our winter raffle rickets have been selling like hot cakes, we’ll be at the Hove Coral Greyhound stadium tomorrow night  with members of the centre and local businesses to watch the races and draw the winning raffle ticket!

One lucky ticket holder will win the grand prize of an Ipad 2 !! Plus we have other fantastic prizes to win as well.

Fabrica Art Gallery Visit:

Next week on Tuesday memebers  of the MS Centre will be meeting at Fabrica Art Gallery to see:

Gathering  by Melanie Manchot.

Both films look at how groups of people behave in public spaces, the first projection, Celebration (Cyprus Street) was filmed in East End of London and was inspired by the tradition of street parties.

The second, Walk (Square), children are shown leaving their schools and heading purposefully toward a civic square in the heart of Hamburg where they become part of a vast choreographed crowd.

Here’s the brilliant bit: Once you’ve installed the Give as you Live programme, your computer will remember that you’ve signed up to the scheme every time you visit a partner website.

Give as you Live does all the admin, while the retailers (including Tesco, iTunes, Domino’s Pizza, hotels.com and Dixons) do all the giving.

If you’re a regular online shopper, you could raise hundreds of pounds for the Sussex MS Treatment Centre every year.

Our annual Adur Walk took place on Sunday 11th September 2011 and was a great success.

The weather was really was great compared to all the wind and storms we have had in the past week.

So We were very lucky.

Lots of our fantastic supporters came out to join us and had a wonderful day with a long walk followed by lots of great cake!

Thanks to all our walkers, we hope you can come join us again next year!

Ben raised over five hundread pounds by doing a sponsored walk along the Southdowns with the company he works for.

So we just wanted to say..  Well Done Ben!

Just to remind you all we are going to be having a Summer Tea Party and Open day on Sunday the 21^st of August from 2pm until 5pm.

It’s a great opportunity to welcome new people through our doors, and invite friends and family to come and celebrate the MS Centre with us!

Please come along, and if you would like to bring a cake or sandwiches to add to the tea party, that would be excellent!

We are super busy at the MS Centre this summer, with a calendar full of great social events booked right through until September.

Our regular coffee mornings on Tuesdays and Fridays are now nearly full to bursting, with lots of new faces and lots of the regulars too.

Recently our Pilates classes have been so busy we’ve barely been able to fit everyone in, and Hyper Baric Oxygen Sessions are getting busy and busier every day.

But to provide all these great services we need your help and support, it costs us over £100,000 per year to run the MS Centre and we pay for that by fundraising, grants and donations.

Our next major fundraising event will be the Walk for MS on the 11th of September. This is a great family day out and we take walkers on a 9 mile fundraising walk, followed by a celebration picnic lunch for everyone who takes part!

Every year this popular event helps us raise thousands of pounds for the Sussex MS Treatment centre. The walk is suitable for people of all ages and we encourage you to invite your friends and family to come and take part and support the MS Centre.

We are currently need volunteers to help with running the Oxygen Chamber and Reception. We are the only centre in Sussex that provides High Dosage Oxygen Treatment (HDOT) so it is important that we keep the sessions running.
