We are very excited and pleased to announce that the Sussex MS Treatment Centre is Brighton Marathon 2013, local charity partner.

“What does this mean ?”  we hear you ask!  Well this means that the charity is top of the list when it comes to runners picking a charity to run for, so   in 2013 we will hopefully fill more charity places then ever before and the event should help us raise thousands of pounds for our centre.

As local charity partner we will also be gaining fantastic support and promotion from the Brighton Marathon in the local and national media. This will help us in promoting the work of the charity to a wider audience across Sussex.

So we are very excited about the year to come. We have already had interest from runners who would like to run for us in 2013!

We just wanted to say a big thank you to Andrew Wesby who not only recently ran a Marathon for the MS Centre, but is also working with the pupils at his school to run a Bake Sale to raise funds at the centre.

Well done to all 8 of our amazing marathon champions!

Despite some last minute injuries everyone pulled through and managed the full 26 miles. Such an fantastic achievement for everyone on the day.

Julia, Mandy, Pete, Ross, Bert, Dan, Sam and Mark have all been working hard not only in their training but also by fundraising thousand of pounds for our centre.

We  would like them all to know how much everyone at the centre appriciates their hard work and support.

The money raised goes towards the £100,000 per  year the centre needs to raise to continue its work.

We wanted to let you know all about Tom and Adam who are taking on an amazing challenge and fundraising for the Sussex MS Treatment Centre!

The boys are planning on cycling over 1000 miles from Lands End to John O Groats and are fundraising for the Sussex MS Treatment Centre, they plan on setting off on June the 3rd and they think it will take them 11 days to make the ride from one end of the country to the other!

This year we decided to create very special MS Treatment Centre Christmas cards to sell at the centre to help us with our winter fundraising.

We decided to use our favourite picture of Tanner the dog, wearing his christmas hat whilst sitting in the snow.

It was rather a surprise when we sold out of the first batch of christmas cards, on the first day they were put out for sale! It seems that Tanner’s cheeky smile and Christmas hat are the perfect combination for the centre Christmas cards.

We’re now busily printing off more cards to put out for sale before Christmas. You can buy a pack of five Christmas Cards for £2.00 from the centre, all profits from the sale of the cards, go directly back to the centre, helping us continue to provide our services.

Thanks to all who came to the Night at the Dogs last week. It was a fantastic night with friends of the MS Centre and support from some fabulous local companies!

The event was a great fundraising opportunity for the centre, as well as promoting our work to the public.

We drew our Winter Raffle and the top prize of the ipad2 was won by a family member of one of our centre’s volunteers! There were plenty of other prizes drawn so do pop by the centre and check if you were one of our lucky winners.

Winter Raffle:

Our winter raffle rickets have been selling like hot cakes, we’ll be at the Hove Coral Greyhound stadium tomorrow night  with members of the centre and local businesses to watch the races and draw the winning raffle ticket!

One lucky ticket holder will win the grand prize of an Ipad 2 !! Plus we have other fantastic prizes to win as well.

Fabrica Art Gallery Visit:

Next week on Tuesday memebers  of the MS Centre will be meeting at Fabrica Art Gallery to see:

Gathering  by Melanie Manchot.

Both films look at how groups of people behave in public spaces, the first projection, Celebration (Cyprus Street) was filmed in East End of London and was inspired by the tradition of street parties.

The second, Walk (Square), children are shown leaving their schools and heading purposefully toward a civic square in the heart of Hamburg where they become part of a vast choreographed crowd.

Please join us for a Very Private View with the other MS Centre art lovers on Tuesday 8 November 2.30-3.30pm.
