The Adur Walk 2015
On Sunday 6th September 32 people took up the challenge of walking about 9 miles (24,890 steps
apparently!) from the lovely art deco terminal building at Brighton City (Shoreham) airport, along the
banks of the River Adur to Upper Beeding and back again. The weather was perfect. The route took
them over the Old Toll Bridge which has become the centre of tributes to the victims of the airshow
tragedy so they stopped to lay flowers and read the tributes before continuing on their route.
Many of the walkers also took a break for refreshment in the garden of the Kings Head in Upper Beeding
before returning to the airport for tea and sandwiches. Well done, and thank you to all the walkers, to
the marshals Mark, Alan and Martin, to Jill, Alison, Jane, Cathie and Theresa who sorted everything at
the airport and to Brighton City Airport and the staff in the restaurant who made us all so welcome.
